Bachelor's Degree Programmes
Our undergraduate degree programmes lead to the first academic qualification, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). We offer degree programmes not only for teacher training but also for other fields of education. The standard duration of study is usually 6 semesters (3 years).
Admission to a bachelor’s degree programme usually requires the general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or an equivalent qualification. Further details are set out in the entry requirements, which you can find on the relevant degree programme page. After completing your Bachelor’s degree, you have the option of entering the world of work or applying for a place on a Master’s programme.

Early Years Education
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Early Years Education qualifies you for professional work in the field of education, childcare and the upbringing of children aged 0 to 12. The programme is equally focused on academic study and practical application.

Sport, Health and Leisure Education
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Sport, Health and Leisure Education (BA-SGF) equips students with the skills to understand the interrelationship between quality of life, health, leisure, physical activity and sport. This enables you to develop professional programmes that promote health and physical activity, as well as to advise individuals and organisations on matters relating to leisure activities.

Primary School Teacher Training
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Primary School Teaching is the first step towards becoming a teacher for Years 1 to 4. The combination of subject knowledge and extensive practical school experience provides you with the foundation you need to competently support children aged 5 and over on their educational journey.

Primary School Teacher Training, European Teacher Training Specialisation (EULA)
The European Teacher Training programme is a specialisation within the primary school teacher training programme. We offer you the opportunity to acquire teaching skills in dealing with multilingualism and intercultural competence for teaching, in either English or French.
This degree programme has been suspended for the summer semester of 2026. Applications are currently not being accepted.

Teacher Training for Lower Secondary Education
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Secondary Level I Teacher Training is the first step towards becoming a teacher for Years 5 to 10. We provide you with the specific foundation required for teaching at Realschulen, Werkrealschulen or Gemeinschaftsschulen. You can also pursue careers in other fields within education and educational science.

Teacher Training for Lower Secondary Level, specialising in European Teacher Training (EULA)
The European Teacher Training Programme is a specialisation within the teacher training programme for lower secondary education. We offer you the opportunity to acquire teaching skills in dealing with multilingualism and intercultural competence for teaching in Years 5 to 10, with English as the target language.
