Through this project, we are institutionalising and expanding our international cooperation. In doing so, we are focusing in particular on the issues of global inequality, colonial ways of thinking and post-migrant societies.

As part of our university development projects, which we carry out in collaboration with funding bodies and partners, we are constantly working to improve the quality of teaching, research, the support for early-career academics and continuing professional development. Get Ready for Global Teaching!
Term until 2029
The “Get Ready for Global Teaching!” project aims to offer future teachers learning opportunities to further develop their cultural and linguistic sensitivity, and to reflect on key contemporary issues and challenges from a global perspective through direct international exchange, as called for by the concept of Global Citizenship Education.
The aim is to train teachers to design educational processes within linguistically and culturally diverse groups in a way that is inclusive and sensitive to diversity and discrimination. International exchange and networking contribute to the further development of these skills through direct and personal experience.
The project will run for four years until the end of 2029 and is being carried out in cooperation with seven international partner universities.

DiAs – Digital Assessment
The aim of the DiAs project is to develop new, innovative assessment formats and to implement them sustainably at all levels of higher education structures. Competence-based assessment, in the sense of Constructive Alignment, requires a precise alignment of assessment formats and tasks with the intended learning outcomes. The main focus is therefore on using digital technologies to establish innovative assessment formats that go beyond the current standard of text-based examinations.

InDiKo – Integration of subject-specific digital teaching and learning concepts
As part of the ‘Quality Initiative for Teacher Training’, funded by the federal and state governments, the InDiKo project focused on the sustainable integration of subject-specific digital teaching and learning concepts. In the course of this project, we have further developed the compulsory study module on media literacy and digital education, implemented corresponding digital teaching and learning concepts, and established the virtual, transdisciplinary teaching and learning space known as the Innovation Space. This offers our students, lecturers and early-career researchers the opportunity for mutual exchange.

KuLO – Arts and Cultural Institutions as Learning Organisations
Preserving the diversity of arts and cultural institutions in Baden-Württemberg and strengthening their individual potential for innovation – that was the aim of the collaborative project ‘Arts and Cultural Institutions as Learning Organisations’. In collaboration with Heidelberg University of Education and its Academy for Academic Continuing Education, a hybrid, work-integrated continuing education programme was developed for staff at arts and cultural institutions.
