Course Program
As one of the six universities of education in the state of Baden-Württemberg, our range of courses naturally includes a number of teacher training programmes for different age groups and educational levels, including a dual Master’s programme in teacher training.
What some of you may not have known is that we also offer numerous other Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes with a focus on educational science, including part-time Master’s programmes and shorter modules.
The opportunity to undertake extracurricular certificates and special additional programmes, such as language courses, round off our comprehensive educational package.

An overview of all Bachelor’s degree programmes
Our undergraduate degree programmes lead to the first academic qualification, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). We offer degree programmes not only for teacher training but also for other fields of education. The standard duration of study is 6 semesters (3 years) in each case.

An overview of all Master’s degree programmes
Our consecutive degree programmes lead to a second academic qualification: the Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Master of Education (M.Ed.). In addition to teacher training programmes, we also offer a wide range of programmes in other fields of education. The standard duration of study is one to two years (2 to 4 semesters). A Master’s degree entitles you to pursue a PhD.

Extracurricular certificates – what are they?
Extracurricular study modules are smaller modules that you can take in addition to, or to complement, your regular degree programme. These usually comprise 15 credit points (CP). They are designed to help you develop your own areas of specialisation or to explore topics that particularly interest you in greater depth.

Studying whilst working
Our part-time Master’s programmes provide a comprehensive academic education. If you hold a first university degree and have at least one year’s professional experience, these programmes will provide you with an additional qualification for your professional field. A Master’s degree also entitles you to pursue a PhD. If you would prefer to study smaller modules, you can choose from a wide range of CAS, DAS and micro-credentials.

Studying abroad as an ‘incoming’ or ‘outgoing’ student offers you this opportunity.
