Master's Degree Programme in Higher Secondary Schools Teaching Profession at Vocational Schools
The Master’s programme for teaching at vocational colleges has been developed in collaboration with the neighbouring Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) and capitalises on the synergies between the two closely neighbouring universities. Students on the HKA’s Bachelor’s degree programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology can obtain a degree in engineering and subsequently qualify to teach at a vocational school.
The degree programme combines expertise in educational science with that of engineering. As a graduate, you will be able to take up a post in the senior civil service at vocational schools and teach the subjects of energy and automation technology or systems and information technology, with computer science and physics as minor subjects.

Entry requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) or an equivalent qualification comprising modules in two engineering disciplines and in educational sciences, as well as practical school experience. The degree programme must have been completed with a minimum of 210 CP or a standard duration of at least three and a half years.
- Evidence of academic achievements in the following areas:
- first specialisation: at least 120 CP
- second discipline: at least 60 CP
- educational sciences: at least 12 CP
- A teaching placement at a vocational school in Baden-Württemberg lasting at least three weeks.
